Color makes me happy

As you get to know me, you’ll find that color makes me happy–really happy, which is one of the reasons I love my work. For me, it isn’t always colors that are generally thought to invoke positive feelings that make me happy–although they are wonderful–it can be colors that just seem so right, so well done, so perfect for the space or place they’re in.

The image above brought a smile to my face immediately–the vibrant colors on these quirky saunas, that remind me of playful birdhouses or gypsy caravans, could not be more perfect. And, the story that goes along with these saunas delights me, too. Richard and Celine, owners of Le Petit Moulin du 4 Milles, are so ardent about reforestation that they have planted 600,00 trees over the last 30 years.

The saunas are made from Thuya, a White Cedar that grows in Quebec, and finished with Sansin SDF, one of the best wood finishes you can use for long-term protection, which we introduced in Colorado in 2014.

The Sansin colors featured above are: Yellow Ochre, Monterey Red, Onyx and Avocado.
